Becoming or hosting an au pair in America (USA)

The only way to become or to host an au pair in America is to use one of the twelve federally designated au pair agencies. The au pair needs a J1-Visa and the only way to apply for this is to go through one of these agencies. Once you have found your au pair or host family through Aupair World, both of you need to contact an agency. When you have agreed which of the twelve federally designated agencies to use, the au pair and the host family need to contact the local office.
