Au Pair Programme ItalyPocket money, working hours, time off & Co. Whether you have questions concerning pocket money, working hours, time off or holidays – this page will provide you with the necessary information.
In Italy, you have the opportunity to flexibly agree upon your weekly working hours with your host family. For a better overview, we have displayed the different possibilities in one table. Duties
As an au pair you will primarily take care of your host family's children. Additionally, you will be put in charge of minor household duties. You should clarify with your host family beforehand what your exact tasks will look like. You should include all points you agree upon in your au pair contract. Working hours, time off, pocket money
Apart from your pocket money, you will be granted free board and lodging by the family. You are also entitled to free board and lodging in case of illness. Holiday In Italy, there are no uniform rules concerning the holiday for an au pair. Therefore, you should come to an agreement with your host family in advance. In general, an au pair is entitled to a paid holiday of two weeks if employed for six months. Language course You should have enough spare time and the opportunity to participate in a language course. You will bear the costs for the language course yourself. Your host family should help you find a course that suits you. Termination You can terminate your au pair contract giving a two-weeks notice. In case of serious circumstances, you can terminate your contract with immediate effect. More information for au pairs in the host country Italy: More information for host families in Italy
